You will notice that in some of the pics towards the end of this post, I’m wearing a hand bag! If you have been following my posts you’ve likely noticed that I never have a hand bag/purse with me in the pics. Why? Well, honestly, it’s because I have no clue when it comes to this particular wardrobe item lol! So in 2018 my goal is to embrace the purse lol and learn how to make my outfits more interesting using them!
I have always been a one purse lady. Using that one purse for function only and replacing it when my current one falls apart and my Mom buys me a new one for my Bday lol!
I have started my purse journey with this little blush pink cutie pie! I was out shopping last weekend (actually in a store and not online) and I saw this little cross body bag on sale and it just screamed “take me home, I will make your outfits so much more fun!”. So of course I listened to the bag and brought it home! And I’m so glad I did! You will see it in 2 posts this week starting with this one and I love how it adds more interest to my outfits!
Of course this bag won’t go with every outfit that I put on, so the next bags on my radar are a structured black satchel type of purse and a more casual hobo type of bag in a brown/cognac. I have a very small clothing budget so I likely won’t be going for a designer bag, but I also don’t want something that is going to fall apart in a few weeks. So I’ll be shopping around for something that is good quality for a decent price (under $100). If you have any ideas, send them my way!!
In this post, I’m wearing a beret and wanted to show you a few different ways you can wear it. One of those ways is how NOT to wear it! The one that I have on here is not very structured so I can wear it slouched to the back of my head like a beanie. I can also wear it to the side which is how a more structured beret would be worn mostly. You’ll see in one of the pics below that I have it sitting right on the top of my head like a mushroom. This is how NOT to wear a beret and yet I see it when I’m out and about. I realize that fashion and style is totally individual and if you like the mushroom beret look, you rock it girl! But generally speaking, you’ll want to wear it slanted to the side or back of your head 🙂
Don’t be afraid to rock a hat of any kind ladies! I wear hats often and I often get comments from people saying that they can’t wear a hat because it looks ridiculous on them. I would be willing to bet that they look awesome in a hat and rather that they are uncomfortable in one because they aren’t used to wearing one. So there may be a bit of an adjustment period as you get used to wearing one, but give it a chance. They really are a fun addition to your wardrobe!!
